Main Purpose of Job

The Training Producer is responsible for managing the technical components and delivery of virtual instructor led training utilizing web conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meets, WebEx, etc. The incumbent will assist the facilitator with session moderation, provide immediate technical assistance to attendees, troubleshoot technical issues, set up break out rooms, polls, and screen shares. The Training Producer supports the Professional Development Team achieve and deliver G.O.L.D. Standard Customer Service through implementing a consistent high-quality learning experience.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Manages and coordinates the delivery of virtual instructor led training programs designed to develop and update targeted employee competencies consistent with identified training needs and DHS’s strategic training goals.

  • Prepares for training delivery by reviewing materials, attending rehearsals, and confirming all necessary technical configurations. 
  • Resolves audio and connection issues for attendees and speakers during virtual instructor led sessions.
  • Adheres to a training schedule consistent with DHS’ strategic training goals and timely posts course attendance data after delivery of training. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Six months of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • One year of experience performing clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
  • One year of relevant experience including experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Webex.
  • One year of professional work experience working with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • One year of experience using PowerPoint or Google Slides.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
