Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
*Operate the heavy equipment at Warfield Air Base to perform grade/excavate earth and other construction and repair projects.
* Will make minor to moderate repairs to the heavy equipment and perform routine maintenance on this equipment.
* Mowing and string trimming throughout base, trimming vegetation, edges and trims grass along sidewalks, curbs, around utility poles, buildings, along fence lines, trees, and utility obstruction with powered and non-powered equipment.
* Removes fallen limbs, tree branches, pinecones, leaves, and other debris.
* Fall leaf removal, snow and ice removal, application of ice melting chemicals and monthly sweeping.
* Other duties involving the use of heavy equipment and base maintenance as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Eighth grade.
Experience: Five years of experience in the building maintenence or building construction trades including four years of experience assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Leave Benefits include:
