The main purpose of this part time contractual position is to provide individual, family and group therapy and counseling in the treatment of serious emotional and behavioral problems of children, adolescents, their families, and adults. This position provides assessment and evaluation with diagnosis on all assigned clients and makes referrals when indicated and then formulates treatment plans with clients and families, based on treatment needs. The position then implements treatment based on the assessments, evaluations, and treatment plans. This position serves as a resource for community programs and in the development of policies and procedures that will impact on service delivery. This position is designated emergency essential.

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.

Experience: None.

Desired applicant must have experience with evidence-based modalities; providing treatment to children and/or adolescents; and, providing treatment to clients with co-occurring disorders.

1. Candidates must be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker (on or by June 30, 2018), Master Social Worker(on or after July 1, 2018) or Certified Social Worker by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Maryland Department of Health Testing Unit.

2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
