LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Screens and assesses incoming internal investigative complaints, coordinating the dispensing of routine acknowledgement letters to complainants and assignment letters to designees; and composing letters of finding to complainants after determining Office concurrence or non-concurrence with Designee investigative findings.
- Establishes procedures and methods to effectively manage the EEO reporting, investigative, research and closing process for all EEO complaints and submissions. Promotes the development of strategies and statistical data collection to identify the needs of the Department.
- Responsible for assisting the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Compliance Manager of OEEO with the day-to-day management of the office and staff.
- Oversees the training of subordinate staff in EEO federal and state law review and provides guidance to Investigators and OEEO staff. Encourages subordinate staff to seek professional growth development opportunities by attending training offered by various sources to sharpen their skills.
- Direct and/or assist with the management of Office activities and functions.
- Assists the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Compliance Manager in review of Agency Compliance.
- Recommends policies, procedures, program goals and standards for the Office programs.
- Serve as Office liaison with external enforcement agencies, the Statewide EEO Coordinator’s Office, attorneys and other employee representatives and EEO designees in the processing and negotiation of complaints.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
1.Experience managing, supervising or having oversight of EEO investigative and training personnel.
2.Experience investigating complaints of discrimination to include equal employment opportunity, case management, drafting EEO related notices/investigative reports, recommendations, referral of non- Equal Employment Opportunity matters, Americans with Disabilities Act and sexual harassment complaints.
3.Experience reviewing EEO related data, review and collection of data for any internal/external operational or mandatory EEO or DEI related reports.
4.Experience receiving, investigating, and recommending corrective action and facilitating the resolution of Equal Opportunity Employment /Americans with Disabilities Act related complaints, drafting mediation and settlement agreements.
5.Experience providing assistance and making recommendations regarding policies, legislation, issues and operational functions related to Equal Employment Opportunity/Americans with Disability.
