POSITION DUTIES
The main purpose of this
position will be to supervise and perform full performance level
responsibilities for all inventory (sensitive and non-sensitive), fixed assets
and the movement of inventory, throughout the Maryland Military
Department. This position oversees the inventory control system to ensure
compliance with DGS Inventory Control Manual, performing quarterly audits of
missing inventory agency wide. This position monitors and ensures supplies are
being used properly to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse. This position will
ensure proper disposal of surplus property in accordance with DGS
requirements.
This position will prepare the Annual Inventory reports of
all equipment and the
Annual Inventory of
Materials and Supplies. This position is also
responsible and oversees the Military Department's Vehicle Fleet Accounting,
ensuring all assigned vehicles are properly titled, registered, and inspected
in accordance with State Law and that vehicles are properly maintained by
accountable officers.
This position receives
general supervision from the Director of Finance. This position provides
supervision to the Inventory Control Specialist.
Position Duties include
but are not limited to:
·Coordinate and
supervise physical inventories and certify those inventories
·Ensure overall
accountability for land, buildings, and improvement capital and non-capital.
·Register and inspect state
vehicle fleet.
·Enter data for all
vehicles .
·Accounts and controls
gas and maintenance cards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with Fleet Management
· Experience with State Travel Regulations
· Experience in handling Inventory of Equipment, supplies and
materials
· Experience in Microsoft Office Suites, Google Meet, Google Docs
and verbal/ written communication skills
· Experience with computerized inventory systems, familiarity with
FMIS-ADPICS approval process
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
This position will
require the ability to pass a State & Federal background check to access
military facilities within the state of Maryland. Being able to access
these facilities is a condition of employment for this position.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which
require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties
will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the
State of Maryland with less than 5 points to operate a state vehicle.
