Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Investigates real estate complaints filed by consumers against real estate licensees, using interviewing skills and techniques, a thorough knowledge of real estate practice, real estate laws, real estate documents, meets with the parties to complaints, prepares a thorough written report of findings, responds to telephone inquiries and manages an investigative case load.
- Meets with Department counsel to review claims, complaints and investigative reports to ensure that all pertinent documentation is included.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience conducting investigations of alleged non-compliance with state laws and regulations, which govern the licensing and practices of business occupations and professions.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Compliance Inspection and Support classifications or Compliance Inspection and Support specialty codes in the Inspection, Investigation, Enforcement, and Compliance field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Experience testifying at Administrative, Civil, and/or Criminal hearings.
- Law enforcement experience.
- Investigative experience.
