Introduction
Join a dynamic
team that supports the Maryland National Guard, their mission, and the other
State employees of the Maryland Military Department. This position works on a
compressed work schedule from 6:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Friday. The
Maryland Military Department offers free gated parking at this location.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position
include but are not limited to:
Evaluating, implementing, and
maintaining the eMaint System and its data input.
Plans, coordinates, and
conducts formal and informal training programs for microcomputer users.
Manages and controls inventory
of microcomputer hardware and software, service, supplies and
equipment.
Reviews microcomputer
literature and attends workshop, seminar, and training classes to learn
the microcomputer hardware and
software used by the FMO and to keep abreast of the latest
developments in microcomputer
information services.
Monitor daily customer service
request.
Develops, implements, and
manages training programs for computer operating staff.
Coordinate the maintenance and
modification of multi-purpose, multi-tasking computer system
applications.
Prioritize work orders.
Works closely with computer
operators in solving problems and in checking program applications,
to include loading software.
Meets with upper-level
management, users, programmers, technical support staff and vendors
to discuss and resolve computer
operations problems.
Prepare statistical and
narrative reports of routine computer operations and special operations.
Prepare and maintain desktop
publishing of complete computer programs.
Perform other related duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, data base or other applications on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute nine credit hours in personal computer applications at an accredited college, university or institution for one year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the completion of a certification program in computer repair, such as Microsoft A+ or an equivalent program for one year of the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
