eMaint System Manager


Join a dynamic team that supports the Maryland National Guard, their mission, and the other State employees of the Maryland Military Department. This position works on a compressed work schedule from 6:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesday through Friday. The Maryland Military Department offers free gated parking at this location.


GRADE

Grade 15, Salary starts at $52,575- $65,621 with the potential to reach $80,992 per year.

Main Purpose of Job

This position will evaluate, implement, and maintain the eMaint System and its data input. Plans, coordinates and conducts formal and informal training programs for microcomputer users. Manages and controls inventory of microcomputer hardware and software, service, supplies and equipment. Monitor daily customer service request. Develops, implements and manages training programs for computer operating staff. Coordinates the maintenance and modification of multi-purpose, multi-tasking computer system applications. Prioritizes work orders. Works closely with computer operators in solving problems and in checking program applications, to include loading software.

POSITION DUTIES

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

Evaluating, implementing, and maintaining the eMaint System and its data input.

Plans, coordinates, and conducts formal and informal training programs for microcomputer users.

Manages and controls inventory of microcomputer hardware and software, service, supplies and

equipment.

Reviews microcomputer literature and attends workshop, seminar, and training classes to learn

the microcomputer hardware and software used by the FMO and to keep abreast of the latest

developments in microcomputer information services.

Monitor daily customer service request.

Develops, implements, and manages training programs for computer operating staff.

Coordinate the maintenance and modification of multi-purpose, multi-tasking computer system

applications.

Prioritize work orders.

Works closely with computer operators in solving problems and in checking program applications,

to include loading software.

Meets with upper-level management, users, programmers, technical support staff and vendors

to discuss and resolve computer operations problems.

Prepare statistical and narrative reports of routine computer operations and special operations.

Prepare and maintain desktop publishing of complete computer programs.

Perform other related duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, data base or other applications on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute nine credit hours in personal computer applications at an accredited college, university or institution for one year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute the completion of a certification program in computer repair, such as Microsoft A+ or an   equivalent program for one year of the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience or knowledge of work order or ticketing system. 
Experience or knowledge of an asset monitoring system.
Demonstrated multitasking capabilities. 
Experience or knowledge of project management

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All selected candidates with the Maryland Military Department are required to have a background check prior to being employed.  This position will require the ability to pass a federal security check in addition to a State & Federal background check to obtain a CAC ID card to access military installations and computer systems. The ability to obtain and maintain a CAC ID Card is a condition of employment for this position.

Leave Benefits include:
