This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Engineering and Construction Unit. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

Main Purpose of Job
To provide survey data for topographic and hydro surveys.
POSITION DUTIES
The Department of Natural Resources, Engineering and Construction Unit, is currently accepting applications for an Agency Project Engineer/Architect II under the direction of the Chief, Technical Services Program. This position will be based out of Cambridge, MD. The position will provide topographic and hydrographic surveys for engineering projects and will give support to the lead person on the survey crew.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Five years of experience, one year of experience as a design and project manager Engineer, Architect, or Surveyor for agency capital and operating construction, maintenance and system services projects and an additional four years of experience as an Engineer, Architect, or Surveyor in the building construction field involving the design, construction or repair of building structures or system services.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a design and project manager Engineer or Architect for agency capital and operating construction, maintenance and system services projects for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Professional Engineer or Professional Architect registration in the State of Maryland or in a state with comparable requirements for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Engineering and Architecture classifications or Engineering and Architecture specialty codes in the Architecture field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Trimble/TopCon survey equipment along with computer skills.
- Experience with construction stake-out and running traverse.
- Experience with GPS equipment.
- Experience with Auto Cad.
- Knowledge of running boats and ATV’s.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees may be required to carry an electronic paging device or provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.
