Main Purpose of Job
The position is responsible for leading the creative production and execution of a comprehensive, integrated social media strategy.
POSITION DUTIES
This position requires strong story-telling skills and the ability to shoot and edit video for sharing on social media. The position will manage all aspects of the social media strategy from concept through execution and generate innovative audio/visual content quickly and regularly. The responsibilities of the Digital Media Manager include developing, implementing, and managing the OAG’s social media strategy; planning, creating, publishing and sharing new content (including original video, text, graphics, and images) on a daily basis to help inform followers of the Office’s work; collaborating with OAG units to develop new content; staying up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies; creating editorial calendars; capturing and analyzing social media data/metrics, insights; and social media best practices to measure the success of every social media campaign and overall social media strategy to refine future campaigns and posts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience managing a comprehensive social media strategy.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to manage social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
2. Expertise in video production and editing and creating graphics using Adobe software or similar.
3. Possession of a valid Maryland driver's license.
