Introduction
The Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) is responsible for almost $1 billion in annual contract administration, 6.3 million square-feet of State-owned facilities, and 4.6 million square-feet of leased space. DGS supports State and local government agencies by providing a full spectrum of design and construction, facilities operations, security, procurement, real estate, and surplus property services.

LOCATION OF POSITION
This position is available with
the Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Facilities Management /
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Unit, located at 301 W.
Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position
include but are not limited to:
- Schedules program work,
oversees daily operations, coordinates program activities, and sets priorities
for managing the program.
- Monitors team progress to ensure that projects are completed, and goals are met and lead staff meetings and discussions to answer questions and remedy complaints.
- Ensures projects are completed on time and budget, according to requirements, and authorizes purchases for the unit.
- Work with the Director to identify and implement sustainable strategic goals
and prepare budget requests for the coming fiscal year.
- Plans programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines, milestones, and evaluates strengths and weaknesses.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for coding, data entry, auditing, and error reconciliation to ensure data integrity on the system.
- Represents the CMMS program and meets with senior management, vendors, customers, agency personnel, and State personnel.
- Publicly speaking about the
program in meetings and presentations and ensuring reports are submitted
accurately and on time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university.
Experience: Seven years of experience in administrative staff or
professional work, to include three years of program management experience.
Note: Candidates may substitute
additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a
year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given
to applicants that possess the following preferred qualifications.

- Two years of experience
working with and managing a database system is preferred.
- Building maintenance /
building maintenance management experience is strongly preferred.
