Introduction

The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Maryland. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has the general charge, supervision, and direction of the legal business of the State, acting as legal advisors and representatives of the major agencies, various boards, commissions, officials and institutions of State Government. As Maryland’s 47th Attorney General, Anthony G. Brown, leads the Office with a key focus on equity, justice, and fairness. 

The Division was created by the legislature in 2021 to investigate all officer-involved fatalities in the State of Maryland. Beginning October 1, 2023, the Division will have the authority, when appropriate, to prosecute such cases as well.

Main Purpose of Job

The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for the position of Multi-Media and Video Evidence Support Specialist.  While this position will provide overall support to the attorneys, investigators, and additional staff in the investigations and administrative requirements, it will primarily do and ensure proper video editing and production and assist with requests for electronic records on behalf of the Division. Specifically, the position requires assistance with the redaction of documents and the production of video to release to the public. Also, the position will aid in the preparation of demonstrative evidence at trial, to include working with the attorneys and the Web Administrator to prepare trial exhibits.

POSITION DUTIES

This position will be the Multi-Media and Video Evidence Support Specialist for the Division and provide overall support to the attorneys, investigators, and additional staff in the investigations and administrative requirements. The position will primarily do and ensure proper video editing and production and assist with requests for electronic records on behalf of the Division. Specifically, the position requires assistance with the redaction of documents and the production of video to release to the public. Also, the position will aid in the preparation of demonstrative evidence at trial, to include working with the attorneys and the Web Administrator to prepare trial exhibits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

At least three (3) years of relevant experience. 

The ideal candidate should be:

1.  Proficient in video production and editing and creating graphics using Adobe software (i.e. Premiere Pro and Photoshop) or similar. 
2. Familiar with body-worn camera and dashboard camera video management software. 
3. Have a versatile background with other technology, software applications, and administrative support. 

While experience in the legal field is not required, writing and editing skills are necessary along with the experience to aid in the various software programs and applications that are used in support of the mission of the Division.
