Introduction
The Appointments Office is charged with making state government inclusive and representative of the people it serves—from cabinet secretaries to judgeships and the state's 600 boards and commissions. It manages the recruitment for, and administrative and technical aspects of the appointments process, and engages with communities across the state to make sure that, for every appointment, we have the most talented and representative candidate pool possible. The Placement Assistants manage portfolios of boards and appointments to those boards, and support the administrative duties associated with the appointments work, including appointments paperwork and timely response Appointments Office emails and phone calls.

POSITION DUTIES
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of boards for the purpose of making appointments to those boards
- Curate shortlists that meet board statutory requirements and needs
- Thoroughly vet and assign finalists
- Move finalists through approval and appointments processes
- Cultivate and maintain key stakeholder relationships with agency partners and board and commission executive directors
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify candidates that align with the unique and specific statutory requirements for portfolio boards
- Curate appointments with a lens of representativeness, to ensure boards and commissions are representative of the state and communities they serve
- Track resignations and other changes across boards–and make emergency appointments as needed
- Support leadership on appointments to executive boards and commissions portfolio
- Support the paperwork requirements associated with appointments
- Provide quality service–and adherence to outreach guidelines–in response to constituent concerns via email and phone calls
- Collaborate across the team to maximize idea-sharing, best practices and support
- Contribute to team culture of excellence that thrives on creativity, feedback, individual leadership and clear, open communication
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; Masters preferred
- Strong organizational skills
