Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Health Care Commission is an independent State agency responsible for planning for health system needs and promoting informed decision-making by providing timely and accurate information on availability, cost, and quality of health care services to policymakers, purchasers, providers, and the public.

The Commission is seeking a Program Manager to work under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer to assist in managing the Commission’s overall program goals which includes the Maryland Trauma Physicians Fund ensuring reimbursement for uncompensated care, on call costs and stand by costs that are paid to the Maryland Trauma Hospitals, managing contract deliverables through center planning documents, tracking and updating the MHCC contract tracking system, assisting with accounts receivable/accounts payable activities, check deposits, and coordinating the preparation of the Workload Study report to the Maryland General Assembly. Position will make recommendations to improve program efficiencies in these areas and assist the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Administration with the implementation of long- and short-range plans for program operations and oversee these achievements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a bachelor’s degree and three years of programmatic experience in administrative or professional work including accounts payable, accounts receivable and auditing of programs. Additional experience in administrative or professional work may be substituted on a year for basis for the required education.  Knowledge of the business systems and operating procedures and the State of Maryland FMIS system within Maryland State government is preferred.  Candidate should have experience with attention to detail and organization of job duties.
