Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to function as a supervisor in the Central Distribution Center of the Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Administrative Operations (DAO). This position supervises IT Production Control Specialists and Trainees in the printing, processing, and distribution of all output from MDTHINK Integrity Software System letters, notices, earnings withholding, driver’s license suspension etc.; redeterminations, provider vouchers; Social Service foster care parent statements. 

POSITION DUTIES

  • Supervise the Central Distribution Center to ensure that the appropriate system output is produced, processed, and distributed in a timely fashion. 
  • Maintain communications with the Office of Technology o Human Services Production Control Unit, the MDTHINK Team, Cannon, Family Investment Administration, Social Services Administration, Child Support Administration, and Budget & Finance to insure efficient and seamless operations. 
  • Maintain accurate inventories and provide or security of all data processing forms, supplies and negotiable documents, such as confidential reports. Provide for the maintenance of existing center equipment as well as plan for, recommend and initiate the procurement of new equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of experience scheduling or setting up information technology jobs for production, controlling data input and output or maintaining a tape library for multipurpose, multi-tasking computers.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing or maintaining information or performing clerical work involving reconciliation of data on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Computer Clerk and Assistant classifications or Computer Clerk and Assistant specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

One year of supervisory experience.

One year of experience using industrial Production equipment/software, High Speed Printers, Mail Sorters, UPS Shipping Equipment or similar high functioning distribution machinery.

One year of customer service experience in a Distribution Production setting.

Personal Leave- new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date). 

Annual Leave – ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.

Sick Leave – fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.

Parental Leave – up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.

Holidays – State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holiday per year.

Pension – State employees earn credits towards a retirement pension.
