Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Assist the Family Investment Administration in the preparation of an annual budget request.
- Prepares fiscal estimates and impact statements in response to legislative bills and proposed legislation.
- Prepares quantitative portions of budget requests.
- Monitor financial status of agencies within the Department according to specific funding rules, procedures and requirements.
- Provides assistance and direction in the technical operation, retrieval and preparation of the computerized data files, printed copies of the numerical request and the corresponding budget justification notes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Seven years of experience in budget preparation, presentation and execution.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in budget preparation, presentation and execution for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute graduate education from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, political science or public administration at a rate of 30 credit hours for five years of required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Budget Officer classifications or Financial Management specialty codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
One year of experience working in federal, state, or local government accounting.
One year of experience with Budget Analysis and Reporting System (BARS), Maryland Financial Management Information System (FMIS), and Google software suite.
One year of experience working with a Family Investment Administration Program or a Refugee and Asylee Program at the local, state, or federal level.
