Introduction
The Governor’s Office of Crime
Prevention and Policy (GOCPP) provides access to federal and state grant funds
in an effort to support the Governor’s initiatives to fund the police and
reduce crime, provide for victims’ services and for children & youth to mitigate
adverse childhood experiences.

POSITION DUTIES
- Assist with collecting accurate and timely information in the Compliance Monitoring Data Collection System (CMDCS) and tracking data received.
- Assist with the facilitation of the State Advisory Group’s Emerging Leaders Subcommittee.
- Conduct various research projects including but not limited to evidence-based programming, state and national juvenile justice and child welfare data trends and information gathering.
- Attend and assist with the coordination and scheduling of site visits, meetings, and trainings.
- Participate in various trainings, webinars, forums, etc. regarding juvenile justice and child welfare related issues.
- Assist with preparation for legislative hearings, as requested, attend relevant hearings, and monitor laws and trends in other states.
- Conduct administrative functions as needed for the division and/or office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six months of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
- Experience working with youth in the Maryland State Juvenile Justice System.
- Experience working with children in the Maryland State Welfare System.
