Main Purpose of Job

This position specializes with the Division's asset equipment and stockroom parts inventory. These duties include the process of maintaining and updating the division's capital inventory database resulting from the movement, reassignment to other units and the disposing of equipment. In addition, the position has the responsibility to manage distribution, inventory and perform updates & maintenance of the database for the Division's parts stockroom. The position provides periodic reports, spreadsheets and other documents needed to the division's Director and Deputy Director. The position coordinates and works closely with the agency's auditor group and Property Unit.

POSITION DUTIES

Performs data base entries & updates to the agency's Capital Inventory Database resulting from the activities performed by the Division's technician activities with asset equipment. 

Oversees the ESD's parts room stock distribution and inventory database entries & updates. 

Coordinates the Division inventory reports with the agency's auditors and Property Unit. 

Provides reports, spreadsheets and other documentation as needed to the Division's Director and Deputy Director 

Works with and coordinates with the Division technicians with the agency's WebHelp Desk Ticket System and other reporting procedures/processes concerning asset equipment movement. 

Updates FCC inspection files concerning any equipment that qualifies under the FCC Part 90 rules and regulations. 

Performs other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in Inventory Control and Asset Management.

2. Experience with Microsoft and Google Suite. 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties, which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportation as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned.

In accordance with Section 2-204(b)(6) of the Public Safety Article, Candidates for position in this classification will be subject to an initial drug screening and a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process for this recruitment will involve a rating of the training and experience provided on the application. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be placed on an eligible list in the BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED, and QUALIFIED categories. The list will be used by the hiring manager to select the individual to fill this vacancy. The list will be valid for one year.

Applicants may be given a physical examination and will be subject to an interview, background investigation, polygraph examination and substance abuse testing.

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.
