Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland State Board of Long-Term Care Administrators is the licensing authority of nursing home administrators (NHA) in the State of Maryland. The main purpose of this position is to perform job functions related to the licensure of NHA by processing Administrator-in- Training (AIT), endorsement, reinstatement, reactivation , and renewal applications for the issuance of initial or renewal licenses in accordance with the licensing policies and procedures in the Annotated Code of Maryland, Title 9 of the Health Occupations Article, the Maryland Nursing Home Administrators Act, and the Code of Maryland Regulations, Chapter 10.33.01 (Nursing Home Administrators) to ensure that the Board fulfills its mandated responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate MUST possess one year of experience performing administrative functions related to an online application portal and licensing systems.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:
  • Professional oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Experience working with Google Suites and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with utilizing Google or Zoom video conferencing program

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to current employees of the Maryland State Board of Long-Term Care Administrators.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportation as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned.
