LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
- Learning to provide analytical skills in the Allied Health Unit to ensure that initial applications for licensure and reinstatement of license are processed in a timely manner while assuring all applicants/licensees have met minimum qualifications according to the statutes and regulations of Maryland. This includes an evaluation of the applicant's character and fitness for licensure
- Learning to determine the eligibility of any Allied Health practitioner licensure and reinstatement applications that are submitted to the Board of Physicians where the applicant has answered 'YES' to any of the 'Character and Fitness' questions
- Learning to prepare and present investigative findings and materials to the Board's Disciplinary Panel and the full Board meeting
- Learning to manage/analyze/process these applications from the initial licensure stage through final disposition by the Board.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Five years of experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university, at the rate of 30 credit hours, for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular exercise of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations, or analysis of the operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement, on a year-for-year for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting laws, regulations, and procedures
- Experience presenting clear and concise oral and written reports and recommendations
- Experience applying methods and procedures for collecting, interpreting, and presenting data/information
