Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Manages the daily activities of the ESRB and SE Board including examining, qualifying, licensing and regulating elevator contractors and mechanics as well as the qualifying and registering of locksmiths. Schedules and prepares for monthly meetings of the ESRB and SE Board, including agenda preparation and documentation of actions taken and official minutes. Provides initial evaluations on adequacy of the applications and complaints. Is responsible for providing all materials necessary for ESRB, SE Board and Locksmith Program decision making and discussions. Is responsible for communications with all professionals, complainants, individuals testifying before the ESRB and SE Board. Executes and communicates all ESRB, SE Board and Locksmith Program actions including requests for information, approvals, denials, and disciplinary actions for professional practices.
- Coordinates application and licensing processes. Evaluates credentials submitted by applicants to ensure licenses are issued in accordance with all applicable state laws as well as policies set forth by the department and makes decisions where authority is conferred by the ESRB. SE Board or Locksmith Program. Evaluations may include applicant’s education, experience, out-of-state credentials as well as the elements of the license for businesses. Research ESRB, SE Board and Locksmith Program records and produces license certifications for issuance to other states. Works with the ESRB and SE Board exam contractor to assure that the delivery of examination services meets the requirements of state contracts for exam administration and exam development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
