Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Supervises
performance and activities of ELT Academy participants
to
ensure compliance with MPCTC, COMAR, and DJS policies and procedures.
•
Establishes the annual ELT training calendar. The annual ELT training calendar
shall occur from January 1st – December 31st of each year.
•
Assigns training sessions to Adjunct Instructors to deliver ELT training
content according to their specific instructor certifications.
•
Collects training materials from adjunct instructors and verifies accuracy of
all training materials.
•
Provides assistance and direction to Adjunct Instructors regarding obtaining
and maintaining instructor certifications.
•
Completes evaluations on facilitation of adjunct instructors for full instructor
certification and renewal of instructor certifications.
•
Assists the PTEU Deputy Directors with planning and implementation of quarterly
Adjunct Trainer meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possession of a current Instructor Certification from the Maryland Police Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC). If you possess a current Instructor Certificate from MPCTC, please upload a copy with your application.
2. At least one year
of experience training adults in the Public Safety/Criminal Justice work
environment is highly desirable.
3. At least one year of experience as a
Case Management Specialist.
