POSITION DUTIES
- Oversees the management of the daily operations of the Health Benefits, Retirement and Wellness Unit. This unit consists of one supervisor and three subordinate Specialists responsible for providing guidance and expertise to employees and management staff in policy and procedures with regards to Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), ADA Accommodations, Retirement, State Medical Director referrals, Parental Leave, Leave Bank and Health Benefits for all BCDSS employees.
- Creates, implements, and assess a comprehensive and sustainable 'whole employee' strategy that leverages engagement initiatives, wellness programming, and development opportunities; leads the development of strategies, and implementation of programs by the wellness committee and develops timelines, milestone, communications, key success factors and metrics to identify expected outcomes and success; plans and organizes annual agency wide employee engagement events, health and safety fair, internal activity challenges, external activity and community service activities such the MS Bike Ride, Breast Cancer Walks, American Heart Association walks, etc.; manages and facilitates initiatives that arise from Employee Engagement Survey, particularly those that impact the employee experience.
- Oversees and maintains the HR smart sheet Process; creates maintains and monitors Smartsheet workflows, automation, and forms; develops smart sheets when needed to enhance employee and agency processes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
One year of experience using Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
One year of experience supervising staff.
One year of experience developing or implementing wellness strategies.
One year experience researching and analyzing data.
