Introduction
The Maryland Department of General Services (DGS)
supports State and local government agencies, as well as local non-profit
organizations and the citizens of Maryland, by providing facilities management,
real estate and surplus property services, as well as security and law
enforcement for State buildings. DGS is also responsible for a full spectrum of
facilities engineering, design and construction services, almost $1 billion in
annual contract administration, and overseeing the State procurement process.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Track new purchases, add or delete items from inventory direct annual
materials and supply inventory, prepare reports, and obtain and apply asset
tags as appropriate.
- Perform
other functions that may be required to enable the office to fulfill its
overall mission and responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation
from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency
certificate.
Experience: Five
years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
1.
Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a
year-for-year basis for the required education.
2.
Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology
from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for
one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates
may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a
non-commissioned officer in Administration or Personnel Specialist
classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes
in the Special Assistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis
for the required experience.
