Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide daily administrative support to the Annapolis Superintendent’s Office. This consists of supporting both the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in all administrative tasks.

POSITION DUTIES

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

 - Provide administrative support to Superintendent and OFM managers.

- Track new purchases, add or delete items from inventory direct annual materials and supply inventory, prepare reports, and obtain and apply asset tags as appropriate.

- Perform other functions that may be required to enable the office to fulfill its overall mission and responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration or Personnel Specialist classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Special Assistant or Secretarial fields of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualifications. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.

- Experience with Microsoft Office 
- Experience with Google Suite

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.

The examination for this position will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of the position.  Successful candidates will be placed on the employment eligibility list categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED, or QUALIFIED.  The eligibility list will be valid for one year and may be extended.  The list will be used by the hiring authority to select employees for interviews.  Eligible lists may be used to fill future vacancies of the same classification.   

Please note, selected candidates may be required to complete and successfully pass a State and Federal fingerprint background check prior to being hired.
