Main Purpose of Job

This full time contractual position will work with assigned staff in Allegany County Local Behavioral Health Authority/Local Health Department and Garrett County Local Behavioral Health Authority/Local Management Board/Health Department to plan and manage a local interagency service delivery system for children, youth and families through coordinated efforts to achieve designated Performance Measures established locally and/or state-wide. Assess contractual conditions of award and performance measures, related to Community Health Resources Commission Service and Supports, through monitoring and utilization of a Community Planning Tool. Utilize data and share programmatic reports for services completed by service entities in Allegany County and Garrett County to the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC); Allegany County Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA) and Local Management Board (LMB); Garrett County LBHA/LMB; Behavioral Health/Education Task Force; Allegany & Garrett County Board of Education. Incorporate behavioral health services and support in the development of prioritized areas for future planning needs. Be responsible for updating progress on the implementation of services in the Garrett & Allegany County Public School System during designated Community Meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should be in possession of an Associate Degree in a Human Services field.

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
