Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assist with the Health Department’s mission of promoting, protecting, and improving the health of citizens. This position is under the direct supervision of the program’s Program Manager, This position will plan, coordinate, and implement the quality management and quality improvement programs for the Healthy Families Program, and monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions according Healthy Families America Best Practice Standards. This position will monitor the program’s databases and serves as a liaison to database system developers and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) administrators through the program’s funding sources. This position conducts outreach for the program through mailings and screening phone calls into the program, and maintains relationships with various referral sources to the Healthy Families Program and schedules assessments for the Family Resource Specialist. This position will also occasionally perform psychosocial interviews with referred families during perinatal/postnatal period in support of the Family Resource Specialist and serve as a referral source to all new referrals to the program. This position meets with the supervisor to review any assessments, outreach efforts, referrals and review of the continuous quality improvement of the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience with Microsoft excel and access. 
  • Experience with Google Suite applications.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
