Main Purpose of Job
MMD is looking for a
talented HVAC Repair and Preventive Maintenance Technician. This employee will maintain
HVAC, heating, and Air Conditioning systems throughout the Maryland Military
Department properties and facilities.
The agency is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Repair and Preventive
Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair
HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial
HVAC systems and be able to ensure the reliable operation of heating, cooling,
and ventilation systems for our agency.
POSITION DUTIES
· Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, such as cleaning,
lubricating, and replacing
parts and air filters
· Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues.
· Utilize the E-maintenance system to maintain record of work
orders, parts etc.
· Review and inspect contractor installations.
· Repair or replace defective components, such as motors,
compressors, thermostats, and fans.
· Communicate effectively with stakeholders about the condition of
their systems and any required repairs or maintenance.
· Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Eighth grade.
Experience: Three years of experience in the building maintenance or building construction trades including two years of experience assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as an HVAC Technician.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and
technical drawings.
Experience communicating with stakeholders about
maintenance and repairs.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, materials,
and tools.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
This position will
require the ability to pass a State & Federal background check to access
military facilities within the state of Maryland. Being able to access
these facilities is a condition of employment for this position.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland with less than 5 points to operate a state vehicle.
