Main Purpose of Job

The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Program Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating DME distribution by selecting appropriate DME to meet clients’ needs, coordinate satellite site and main site operations and scheduling, coordinate DME collections, assist with improvement of program services and expansion, records retention management, and perform data collection and analysis of program distribution and collections. This includes assisting the Director with oversight of the DME main site, satellite locations, and program operations.

POSITION DUTIES

Program Coordination

Act as Program Services Coordinator for the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Reuse Program warehouse, providing assistance to the DME Program Director and ensuring the DME warehouse provides a welcoming environment for visitors and clients.

 

Assist clients by answering questions, providing guidance for drop-off of donated items, assisting with the DME application process, and coordination of DME pickup at the warehouse or satellite distribution site.

 

Review all incoming request forms to ensure completeness and confirm eligibility.

 

Determine and select the appropriate equipment for clients with assistance from the Program Director and Mobility Equipment Specialist.

 

Perform final equipment check, prepare equipment for distribution, complete site rosters, and coordinate with satellite sites for each visit.

 

Troubleshoot complex DME cases and provide DME distribution assistance by performing fitting, demonstration, and training of participants receiving DME.

 

Stakeholder Liaison

Serve as liaison to existing satellite site partners to maintain relationships, coordinate donation and distribution between the warehouse, satellite sites, and donor institutions, including planning pickup times, donor drives, and other special events.

 

Maintain contact and collaborations with non-profit organizations, government agencies, and program partners.

 

Outreach and Marketing

Implement and maintain program promotion and marketing through events, print, and electronic material. Respond to questions from other agencies and the public.  Represent the DME Program as a liaison with stakeholders, officials, and other agencies concerning program activities.

 

Provide DME main site tours to program partners and stakeholders.

 

Records Retention and Data Analysis

Oversight of records retention management of the DME program, including upkeep and filing of client records and inventory management.

 

Perform analyses of data and generate reports with respect to both DME distribution, collection, and inventory to analyze and improve program services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following skillsets/experience:

Experience working with people with disabilities.

 

Working knowledge of different types of durable medical equipment.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
