POSITION DUTIES
Durable
Medical Equipment (DME) selection based on DME requests as it relates to the
person’s needs, height, weight, disability requirements, and healthcare
provider direction. As well as making equipment adaptations, providing
equipment demonstration, and training of clients and/or their caregivers,
ensuring all appropriate documentation is maintained, and assisting with
coordination of DME donation collection.
Lead a mobile distribution effort that will improve access to DME by transporting and distributing DME from locations and events around the state in coordination with program partners.
Warehouse management which includes coordination with contracted warehouse staff to ensure systematic stocking of donated equipment and coordination of all warehouse items. This includes maintaining a sufficient inventory of DME parts, repair items, equipment ready for reuse, and stocking of new donated equipment.
Records retention management, data tracking,
and data analysis of equipment collections, distribution, and inventory. This
includes management of all documents including liability waivers and acceptance
forms. When applicable, recommending new strategies and protocols for document
and data tracking.
Assisting with program development and
expansion including creation of partnership opportunities for both the profit
and nonprofit community to engage for the purpose of program enhancement.
Customer service, phone and email management,
assisting constituents as they navigate the program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to
candidates who have the following:
Experience working and licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or certified as
an Assistive Technology Professional.
Experience working with durable medical equipment, mobility equipment,
and assistive devices.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.
As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Paid Time Off leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.
