Main Purpose of Job

This position is the full performance level of work performing diverse clerical tasks and other duties, which support the procurement operations at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center including review of orders, delivery tickets, purchase orders, supply requisitions, etc., to determine that appropriate goods are received, stored, and distributed in accordance with policies and regulations. This position will assist the procurement officer with contract paperwork and assembling bid information. This position will assist the procurement officer with EMMA processes and paperwork for purchasing of commodities and services for ESHC and Upper Shore. This position will assist the procurement officer with property disposal for ESHC and Upper Shore as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials and equipment.

Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Purchasing knowledge for a health care system
  • Knowledge of reviewing financial data and managing documents involving financial data
  • The ability to identify complex problems and develop creative solutions
