Main Purpose of Job

Promotes achievement of Citizens Review Board for Children (CRBC) program’s mission and goals by: Planning, organizing, implementing a variety of statewide community recruitment activities. Recruiting volunteers for all CRBC local Boards statewide. Assist with planning, organizing and facilitating required CRBC new member volunteer orientation and training and refresher trainings. Supporting activities of State Board and volunteers statewide. Provide supervision to CRBC Volunteer Activities Coordinator II and support staff. 

POSITION DUTIES

  • Recruits volunteers for all CRBC local boards statewide. 
  • Coordinates community recruitment efforts in all 23 counties and Baltimore City. 
  • Provides detailed monthly written reports to CRBC Administrator. 
  • Supervises volunteer coordinators and other support and clerical staff. 
  • Provides direction and guidance to Volunteer Activities Coordinator Manage and monitor data entry, completion and mailing of review notifications and recommendation reports in accordance with COMAR and CRBC guidelines. 
  • Manages and monitor volunteer member attendance and 50% process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Experience: Seven years of experience involving planning, coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a state facility, institution or community-based program.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30credit hours in social sciences, journalism, public relations or a related field and three years of experience involving planning, coordinating and evaluating volunteer activities in a state facility, institution or community-based program for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of graduate level education in social sciences, journalism, public relations or a  related field from an accredited college or university at a rate of 30 credit hours for each year for up to six years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

One year of experience working with volunteers statewide.

One year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite Word Suite computer software such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

One year of supervisory experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification will be required to provide the facility with a telephone number at which they can be reached.

  • Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
  • Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.
  • Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.  
  • Parental Leave - up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
  • Holidays - State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holidays per year.  
  • Pension - State employees earn credit towards a retirement pension.
  • Positions may be eligible for telework.
