LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Provide intensive supervision to defendants via face-to-face contacts, community visits (i.e. home, work, school), and by telephone to ensure public safety
- Supervise defendants to ensure their compliance with the court ordered conditions of release
- Prepares supervision reports and revocation requests on defendants under supervision in order to advise the court of their level of compliance
- Performs risk assessments to determine level of supervision and/or risk of flight
- Conducts community visits to verify residence, employment, and educational status consistent with case supervision
- Interviews defendants to obtain background information and to explain the requisite rules and regulations of community supervision
- Advises defendants of all scheduled court hearings and program appointments
- Escorts defendants to the lab and supervises the collection of urine samples in accordance with accepted procedure
- Presents verified information to the judges of the circuit and district courts as a participant at the hearing
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience accessing and analyzing criminal history in criminal justice databases (i.e., Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), National Criminal Information Center (NCIC), Maryland Interagency Law Enforcement System (MILES), or similar).
- Experience preparing Supervision Reports and Revocation Requests on defendants in order to advise the court on defendant’s compliance.
- Experience conducting pretrial release investigations.
