Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to manage, direct, plan, schedule and administer the Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) for the Maryland Department of Health while working with and for State control agencies. FMIS consists of ADHOC and PC Focus Application Development and R*STARS and ADPICS Systems Management. This position will serve as special assistant to the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer and perform non-FMIS related duties in special projects. This position will also be responsible for reports for the Office of Budget and Management, Office of the Secretary, other divisions within MDH, and other state agencies (DBM, DLS). In addition, this position will require strong communication skills and proven strong customer support experience.

The selected candidate should be a self starter with the ability to work independently and possess strong troubleshooting experiences.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is hybrid telework eligible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma, and at least 3 years of professional fiscal experience, including at least 2 years of accounting reports, analytical reporting, and database and accounting systems.

Candidates may substitute additional professional fiscal work experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:
  • Experience with the FMIS system (including screen knowledge, screen setups, reporting and database knowledge)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Adobe editing experience (conversion text to excel and word formatting)
  • Experience with ADHOC focus programming and reporting

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume MUST accompany your application.
