Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this job is to maintain and oversee the agency's statewide automated Accounts Receivable system, ensuring its proper functioning and accuracy in recording revenue transactions. This includes auditing aging receivables to identify delinquent accounts and advising management on appropriate actions, such as recommending bad debt write-offs to the Central Collections Unit. The role also involves performing routine account reconciliations, including revenue and restitution, to identify discrepancies and inaccuracies, and preparing adjusting entries as necessary to maintain accurate financial records.
Additionally, the job requires preparing comprehensive monthly reports on fixed assets, supplies, and materials, analyzing data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement or cost savings. The position also assists with the fiscal year close-out processes, specifically related to object codes 09, 10, and 11.
This position is hybrid telework eligible.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three (3) credit hours in auditing.

1. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with thirty (30) credit hours in Accounting and related courses, including or supplemented by three (3) credit hours auditing, for the required education.
2. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1, 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following:
- Knowledge of and/or experience using FMIS (Financial Management Information Systems) or other accounting software
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing financial reports
- Experience with monthly reconciliations
- Experience with Accounts Receivables
