Main Purpose of Job

The Food Service Worker performs tasks associated with preparation and serving of food to residents & patients at Western Maryland Hospital Center and delivery to satellite facility, Potomac Center/SETT. Clean and Sanitize work areas, equipment and dinnerware following meal service. Prepare or assist in the preparation of simple food items in a timely manner according to the menu, production sheets or nourishment list as required by the daily assignment. Assemble and distribute according to an established schedule insulated meal trays, snacks, nourishments and supplements, using correct portion sizes, follow recipes, honoring preferences, and diet restrictions identified for individual residents. Load trays in Nutrition Services Van, drive van to and unload at satellite area. Reload trays following meals and return them to Western Maryland Hospital Center Nutrition Service Department dish room. Set up and serve meals to staff, visitors, patients and residents. Take & record food / beverage temperatures. Restock work area by using the FIFO and dates, record dish machine temperatures. Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment. Report any supply needs, equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, and questions regarding menu / diet to the Food Service Supervisor. Participates in meetings and in-service training as scheduled to maintain knowledge pertinent to the job. Other duties as assigned.

Education:  None.

Experience: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
