POSITION DUTIES
The Alcohol and Drug Associate Counselor, Lead provides counseling, intervention, intense/brief treatment and rehabilitation services to those detainees with complex substance use disorder(s). This may also include detainees individuals that are dually diagnosed.
Such services may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Supervise all ADTs and certified counselors at the CAC-AD and CSC-AD levels in the BHSB funding female ACT-SAP program.
· Train, assign, review and approve the work and train lower-level Alcohol and Drug Counselors.
· Provide substance use disorder treatment at an ASAM Level 2.1 of Care to a caseload of 15.
· Complete monthly statistics on substance use disorder treatment activities. Complete all BHSB reports, documents, and grant required information.
· Perform screenings on those detainees who will enter group utilizing the SBIRT. Score and assess for appropriate treatment.
· Maintain contact with internal and external resources such as community based addiction providers in support of providing aftercare services.
· Participate in continued professional development through educational train.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Associate Counselors-Alcohol and Drug and a Board Approved Supervision letter.
Experience: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Associate Counselors-Alcohol and Drug and a Board Approved Supervision letter.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations 10.58.07, candidates must be certified by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug and a Board Approved Supervision letter.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
