POSITION DUTIES
The main purpose of
this position is to attend to the religious needs of the inmate population as a
means of facilitating their adjustment to confinement within the Roxbury
Correctional Institution.
§ Plans, develops, monitors and maintains a program of worship
activities, study groups, administration of sacraments, holy day observances
and special programs in order to accommodate incarcerated individual’s
spiritual needs in accordance with relevant agency directives.
§ Meets with incarcerated individuals in order to provide assistance
and guidance by circulating in housing units, setting up visitation schedule in
housing areas and responding to inmate request slips.
§ Develop religious programs to enable inmates to practice their
particular chosen religion by responding to requests of incarcerated
individuals in accordance with agency policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
1. Bachelor's degree in the disciplines of Theology, Religious Studies, or Sacred Studies from an accredited institute.
2. Two years of ministerial experience working under a correctional setting (or similar setting) with various religious groups.
