LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Supervising custody supervisors
- Conducting facility rounds, ensuring proper sanitation practices, and addressing security and emergency issues and/or concerns
- Providing overall supervision of civilian staff to include case management, maintenance, dietary, and support
- Ensuring provision of relevant and current programs and services, as well as interacting with community stakeholders
- Initiating and reviewing facility policies, making suggestions of change to the Warden
- May assume the duties of the Assistant Warden in his/her absence
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience as a Director or Manager of a program within a correction institution can be substituted for the required experience as a Security Chief on a year for year basis for the Security Chief experience.
- Candidates may substitute additional education at an accredited college or university at the rate of sixty credit hours for only one year of the required experience, provided that a minimum of 15 credit hours are in the field of criminal justice or related social science.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in correctional classifications or correctional specialty codes similar to Correctional Security Chief or Correctional Officer Major on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience served in positions similar to the rank of Correctional Security Chief or Correctional Officer Major in other jurisdictions will be considered on a year-for-year basis.

- Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date)
