Introduction
The Maryland State Department of Education is dedicated to supporting a world-class educational system that prepares all students for college and career success in the 21st century. With excellent stewardship from our divisions, we oversee State and federal programs that support the needs of a diverse population – students, teachers, principals, and other educators throughout Maryland. As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.

POSITION DUTIES
- Maintaining effective operation of and growth of the program
- Keeping up with current trends in the commercial vending business to include innovations in technology, software, and operations/facility set up, and implementation of the program
- Being compliant with with Division of Rehabilitation Services policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
- Monitoring of vending machine contractor to validate compliance with pricing, reporting, and operation consistent with established contracts as documented through site visit reports and analysis of contractor reports and electronic data
- Ensuring payments from vendors and to blind vendors are accurate and timely
- Initiating vending contracts in a timely manner consistent with applicable procurement regulations, to ensure implementation continually, with no gaps in service
- Conducting purchases in a timely manner consistent with policy and regulation
- Ensuring equipment purchases, maintenance and repair are accurately tracked
- Maintaining a BEP equipment inventory database to include new equipment, and ensure tags are distributed to business counselors upon delivery of equipment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Work experience in commercial vending operations, including vending stands, snack bars, convenience stores, and/or cafeteria operations, as well as vending machine operations
- Work experience in marketing and sales for small businesses
- Work experience in contract management and Maryland procurement law
