Introduction

With excellent stewardship from our divisions, we oversee State and federal programs that support the needs of a diverse population – students, teachers, principals, and other educators throughout Maryland. As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.

POSITION DUTIES
- Developing, maintaining, and utilizing a Quality Assurance Record Review Instrument, to review client records and vendor reports.
- Participating in agency-wide quality assurance reviews of benefits planning provider reports to assure required documentation is present and of sufficient quantitative and qualitative standards.
- Analyzing results of quality assurance reviews to identify corrective actions for vendors.
- Identifying training needs and appropriate benefits planning program initiatives.
- Developing training materials on benefits planning topics as determined by evaluation of the quality assurance reviews.
- Monitoring benefits planning vendor certification records to ensure all required certifications are maintained by the vendors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualifications. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Work experience in Social Security disability benefits planning or counseling.
- Possession of one or more of these certifications: Community Work Incentive Coordinator (CWIC),Community Partner Work Incentives Counselor (CPWIC), Work Incentive Practitioner (WIP-C).
- Work experience in training or quality assurance.
