This is a MANAGEMENT SERVICES position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.

POSITION DUTIES

The Executive Director of the Pretrial Release Services Program (PRSP) provides executive direction to and is responsible for all aspects of a unique 24 hour/7 day a week agency within the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Division of Pretrial Detention and Services with the overriding goal of the safety of the public. This includes, Agency Mission and Goals, Operating Procedures, Budget, Personnel and Organizational Structure. The Executive Director is ultimately responsible for the Community Supervision of over 2,000 defendants awaiting trial and ensuring those defendants are not re-arrested while pending trial.

  • Plans, directs, administers and implements all aspects of the PRSP mission and goals.                                
  • Establishes and oversees implementation of policies and procedures to facilitate PRSP's mission and goals. 
  • Directs enhanced operations and/or elimination of certain activities.
  • Establishes and implements program goals, standards and controls to meet Program Objectives. 
  • Directs enhanced operations and/or elimination of certain activities.
  • Oversees and manages budget and financial resources of the Program. 
  • Directs the preparation, development of data support for the Programs budget. 
  • Responsible for the annual budget requirements and spending limitations.
  • Establishes the Program's Mission, Goals, and Objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 
Experience: Six years of investigative experience in law enforcement, court services, parole and probation, or pretrial release work including three years conducting pretrial release investigations which includes determining eligibility for pretrial release and recommending conditions of pretrial release to the court. 

Substitutions: 
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Masters degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience. 
2. Additional experience conducting investigations which requires obtaining and analyzing factual information and writing narrative reports of findings may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Experience implementing program goals, standards and controls to meet program objectives. 
2. Experience overseeing and managing budget and financial resources.
