Introduction
The Maryland Department of Labor, (Labor), Division of Unemployment Insurance is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Director of Unemployment Insurance Claim Center. This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year after the closing date of the announcement.

This is a Management Service position that serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

LOCATION OF POSITION
Baltimore County, Maryland (Towson)
Main Purpose of Job
This position reports directly to the UI Deputy Director of Benefits. This position is responsible for all unemployment insuranceactivities of the Towson Center. The primary functions of the center are taking and processing claims and preparing claims for theadjudication process. The Center averages a staffing level of 55. In addition to the management and operation of the unemployment insurance functions, the Director is responsible for all logistical, maintenance and operational aspects of the building.
POSITION DUTIES
Position Duties:
- Manage the resources of the Maryland Department of Labor (MDOL) Unemployment Insurance Claim Center to deliver high-quality unemployment insurance services to customers, thereby supporting the economic stability of the labor force, businesses, and the community.
- Organize, assign, and oversee the work within the claim center to meet the goals and standards set by
- the agency.
- This includes monitoring client call flow, position allocation, staff availability, and economic conditions.
- Perform various administrative functions to ensure effective operations within the claim center.
- Additionally, promote the Labor Department's programs through outreach to interested groups and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration.
Experience: Five years of management/supervisory experience in claims taking or adjudication in a call center environment.
Notes:
1. Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required or preferred education.

This position is currently limited to the Division of Unemployment Insurance only.
