POSITION DUTIES
The Grants Manager of Federal Programs reports to the Executive Director of Federal Programs. The Office is responsible for managing federal grants processes and systems to ensure program goals and objectives are met annually in alignment with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) multiyear strategic plan and Blueprint for Maryland’s Future initiatives.
This position manages the daily operations and activities of assigned grants for multiple federal grant programs. The Manager is responsible for providing management, guidance, monitoring, negotiation, and support to ensure that assigned grant programs are administered according to program requirements.
Core responsibilities include, but not limited to, facilitating and monitoring each stage of the grant program and fund cycle and ensuring that grant programs and funds are used for authorized purposes in compliance with state and federal statutes, regulations, and terms and conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree
from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Six (6) years of
experience in grant management, evaluation and/or monitoring. Two (2) years of
this experience must have been spent supervising professional employees and two
(2) years of the required experience must be in grant management of an
educational program.
Notes:
1. Applicants may
substitute possession of a Master’s Degree, or 36 post-baccalaureate credit
hours of coursework, from an accredited college or university for one year of
the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to
applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include
clear and specific information on your application regarding your
qualifications.
- Experience with Federal Title I, II, III, IV Programs.
- Project Management experience, to include directing, leading, planning and managing projects.
- Experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering training.
- Experience preparing written reports and presentations.
- Experience developing and managing new and revised policies, procedures and standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must consent to a State Police
Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with
this Agency.
