The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is dedicated to transforming young lives, creating safer communities, and fostering equitable systems. We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of Program Health Administrator, so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS! 

This position serves as the statewide Program Administrator for all medical operations, health services, special health programs, and nutritional programs for the Department of Juvenile Services. The position is responsible for the oversight, and management of personnel and financial resources of the program including all health care and food service vendor contracts, pharmaceutical and medical supply needs and demands. 

This position contributes to the development and implementation of policies and health care procedures, specific to nursing services, nutritional services, and special health care programs based upon an understanding of the overall mission, rules, regulations, and parameters, Develops and manages short and long-range plans for program operations and resources, including the development and management of the programs combined $12M+ budget.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare management, healthcare administration, public health, or nursing in a supervisory capacity.
   
Notes: A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following qualifications: 
  • A Master’s degree in Public Health 
  • Experience with managing and auditing medical health, pharmaceutical, and /or food services contracts 
  • Registered Nurse is preferred

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties, which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Willingness to travel Statewide to DJS facilities as required for oversight.
