LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
- Directs, evaluates, organizes, plans and supervises the educational program of RICA-Baltimore.
- Interviews, and hires educational staff in accordance with RICA-Baltimore administrative policies.
- Works cooperatively with the local educational agencies (LEAs) in providing effective educational programs for their youth enrolled in RICA-Baltimore programs.
- Collaborates with the various department heads within the facility to ensure effective educational and clinical programs for the residential and day treatment students.
- Works in partnership with identified local school systems to recruit, hire, and supervise educational staff members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced professional certificate/licensure in special education
- Three years of experience working with students with emotional disabilities in a separate day program or residential facility
- Extensive knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to motivate staff, students and families around the vision of the facility
- Clear and effective communication skills for diverse audiences including students, staff and families
- Well-organized, ability to balance competing priorities and multi-task
- Leadership style that encourages teamwork and collaboration to support excellent instruction
- Well versed in Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR)
