Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the Office of Governmental Affairs on a wide variety of State and local policy, legislative, regulatory, and budgetary or operational issues that may have an impact on the Department of Health and its programs/services provided. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Governmental Affairs in the Office of the Secretary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Notes:

1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess the following:

  • Experience working with a staff at a variety of levels and coordinating work for leadership team members;
  • Experience being a detail oriented self-starter; and,
  • Ability to work under pressure while balancing and moving a number of different deliverables.
