Introduction
The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Maryland. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has the general charge, supervision, and direction of the State's legal business, acting as legal advisors and representatives of the major agencies, various boards, commissions, officials, and institutions of State Government. The OAG also protects the public by civil enforcement of antitrust, civil rights, consumer protection, and securities laws and regulations and by the prosecution of organized crime, Medicaid fraud, environmental crimes, insurance fraud, state tax evasion, and other statutorily assigned matters. As Maryland's 47th Attorney General, Anthony G. Brown leads the Office with a critical focus on equity, justice, and fairness.

Main Purpose of Job
OAG is seeking applicants for a full-time Human Resource Generalist within the Human Resources Division. The HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of human resources operations for the OAG. They are responsible for providing comprehensive HR support across various functions, including HR administration, employee experience, compliance, and employee retention. The primary objective is to foster a positive work environment, promote employee satisfaction, and ensure compliance with legal regulations and firm policies. Duties will include special projects in the following areas: HR Operations & Strategy, Employee Experience, Compliance, and Recruitment & Retention.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Seven years of experience, three years of professional HR experience involving recruitment and employment services, classification and compensation, employee relations, test development and validation, job analysis, job evaluation, salary administration, HR program evaluation, or HR policy formulation and an additional four years of professional HR management work experience in the areas of recruitment and selection, classification, salary administration, employee relations, or test development and validation or as a generalist.
Note: Candidates may substitute the possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for four years of experience.
