Introduction

POSITION DUTIES
General Purpose: The purpose of the Director of Digital is to develop digital communication
strategies and tactics for integrated, multichannel programs designed to communicate the Office
of the Governor’s strategy and vision to Marylanders. The Director provides leadership and
oversight in ensuring brand consistency and uniformity for the Governor’s digital content
channels in support of administrative goals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the Governor’s digital strategy
- Define and drive long-term digital editorial strategy and positioning and provide the framework and leadership in supporting local agencies’ digital programs to ensure a well branded, unified Maryland digital experience
- Lead development of digital communication strategy by working closely with a multidisciplinary team
- Facilitate creation of final digital communication products
- Synthesize information to develop recommendations, strategic imperatives and actionable solutions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 5 years of experience in a digital role, preferably in a government or political setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Experience managing a small team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, as needed
