POSITION DUTIES

The Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs is seeking 3 qualified, experienced professionals to implement and manage the data collection for assigned state agencies reporting on Small Business Reserve (SBR), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) procurement program participation. Collect and analyze agency MBE/SBR data; recommend strategies for improving agency MBE/SBR compliance. These positions provide program policy support and advice to agency personnel, the Special Secretary and MBE compliance and procurement staff at state agencies. Responsibilities include supporting agency personnel in implementing MBE/SBR program best practices; facilitating MBE/SBR training and compliance- related meetings; recommending strategies to improve agency MBE/SBR compliance; assist in training for internal and external stakeholders; and assist agency personnel in resolving MBE complaints. Provide guidance and enforce regulations in all aspects related to SBR/MBE compliance matters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative or professional work.

Note:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university in public policy, public administration, economics, business, finance, or a related field or a graduate degree in law, public policy, or a related field may be substituted for the required experience. 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • One year of experience must include ensuring compliance with State of Maryland regulations, reviewing procedures to ensure compliance, performing audits, resolving contract issues and preparing written reports. 
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with standard computer programs. 
  • Ability to work independently, in teams and under pressure.
