This is an opening for the 2024-2025 School Year.
Maryland School for
the Deaf (MSD) is a diverse, bilingual community that, in partnership with

dedicated individuals who can join us in the education of the children at MSD.
This is an 11-month
position.

MSD, Columbia Campus, 8169 Old Montgomery Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043
Main Purpose of Job
Provide administrative support to the Principal of the Elementary Department.
POSITION DUTIES
Manage the office of the Elementary Department in the daily operations
of the program. In addition to supporting the Elementary School Principal, this
position serves students, families, teachers, staff, and visitors. Duties
include assisting in maintaining program safety and records, tracking and
monitoring student attendance, making phone calls, writing letters, tracking
and collecting progress reports and report cards, and monitoring and
maintaining student and staff well-being. This position will also be involved
with arranging school functions, preparing and proofreading the Principal’s
communications, and coordinating the Principal’s schedule. This position will
collaborate closely with the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officer’s office
and with other programs in the school. May include communication with outside
state and local agencies. May be asked to assume other duties as assigned by
the Elementary School Principal or the Campus Chief Educational Programs
Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong English writing
skills. High School diploma required.
Fluency in American Sign
Language required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Deaf Community preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
New hires are subject
to a criminal background investigation at their own expense. (Maryland Code,
Family Law Article 1, Sections 5-560-568)
