The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. This is a MANAGEMENT SERVICES positions with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Division of Parole and Probation. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for the management and planning of evidence based community supervision practices. Controls operations within field offices situated in a defined geographical area, ensuring that practices are consistent with the department's mission of keeping communities safe. This position is an advisor to the agency Director and Executive Deputy Director of Field Operations. The incumbent also interacts with other management staff within the agency and with governmental and private sector agencies. A Parole and Probation Regional Administrator is management level work responsible for field services planning and management of daily operations of an Office of Regional Operations in the Division of Parole and Probation (DPP).

Employees in this classification are responsible for all parole and probation field services and field work performed by satellite offices within a designated geographical region. 

Employees in this classification supervise Parole and Probation Field Supervisor II positions and also Parole and Probation Assistant Regional Administrators who are responsible for planning, management, and coordination of personnel and fiscal matters, criminal supervision and investigation programs, and specialized services. 

Employees in this classification receive managerial supervision from the Division’s Executive Deputy Director of Field Operations. 

Employees in this classification will be expected to travel/visit office locations throughout their assigned Region on a monthly basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in business, public administration, or social, behavioral or correctional sciences. In order to meet this educational requirement an unofficial copy of your transcript must accompany your application.


Experience: Six years in parole and probation work, at least five years of which must have involved supervisory responsibility of other parole and probation staff.

Notes: Applicants may substitute graduate level education in business or public administration or one of the social, behavioral, or correctional sciences at the rate of 30 semester credit hours per year for up to one year of the required general experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Two or more years of experience relative to the oversight, development, implementation of operational and administrative functions, policy/procedure development with primary responsibility for an entire office location consisting multiple units or spans of control, multiple office locations within a defined jurisdiction, or a defined district or municipality.
2. Two or more years of experience managing inventory, managing budgetary constraints, leading an entire office location consisting of multiple units or spans of control, multiple office locations within a defined jurisdiction, or a defined district or municipality.

· Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date)
· Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year
· Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year
